Beer Tasting with Dad! – BONT IPA

We love Indian Pale Ales, maybe I do a little more than my 60 year’s young, Welsh Dad, but I respect his palet of beer and whiskys!

“Its not unlike that one we drink in Spoons” says Dad after downing half a bottle of micro brewery’s  – Bont Brew’s  – Indian Pale Ale.

Bont IPA – 4.7% ABV

We love IPA. That light caramel malt character with a strong bitter quality and then floods of hop aroma. Our IPA has a touch of Rye and dry hopped ’til i hurt with Cascade and Olicana.

I very much agree with my lovely father, the ale he was refering too in “Weatherspoons” is ShipYard.

Shipyard’s (American Pale Ale) is dry hopped for aroma and flavour with a quartet of four American hop varieties – Chinook, Cascade, Columbus and Centennial delivering a big, bold, brash hoppy beer.

What we can taste in this deliciously dry, local, but caramel boosted beer,  is similar to Shipyard is the Cascade. But Bont IPA has delicious rye undertones, that make it a perfect “go-to” IPA over the Christmas season, but would equally be a happy hoppy option during the summer months in a hot beer garden. Its refeshing tones would go perfectly with your Vegan Christmas grub or fruit crumble. Ive now run out of excuses, just put it in your mouth and trust me – its GOOD!!

From the wonderful voices of the Brewery –

We love beer. So much so that we decided to destabilise perfectly good careers in jobs our parents could be proud of to risk it all making booze. But not the crap kind. We’re talking top-notch, high-class craft beer – inspired by the styles of beer we love to drink. Like intense, aromatic IPAs, with a touch of rye; and deep malty porters with a spicy hop character. We brew in small batches – because no true work of art is mass-produced – out of our tiny, converted shipping container brewery. And we sell it at Farmers Markets, Craft Fairs and wherever people will have us.

Here is where you can catch them next to bag yourself a wide range of Beers and Ales!
